The Jeddah Thiruvithancore Association (JTA), a vibrant community of expatriates hailing from the historic Thiruvithancore (Travancore) region of Kerala, celebrated its annual cultural extravaganza, Thiruvutsavam 2025, with great enthusiasm and grandeur. The event, held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, brought together members of the community for an evening filled with artistic performances, soulful music, and a celebration of their rich cultural heritage.

The highlight of the evening was a captivating documentary that showcased the unique cultural, historical, and geographical features of the Travancore region. Conceptualized by Dileep Thamarakulam and directed by the acclaimed Najeeb Venjaramoodu, the documentary was a visual masterpiece, with stunning cinematography by Saju Rajan and seamless coordination by Nazeer Vavakunj. The film’s compelling storytelling, immersive style, and impactful presentation left the audience spellbound, earning thunderous applause for its ability to evoke nostalgia and pride in their roots.

The musical segment of the event was nothing short of spectacular. Renowned playback singers Sajla Salim and Sajli Salim, known for their enchanting voices, delivered soul-stirring performances that resonated deeply with the audience. Their renditions of classic and contemporary songs celebrated the rich musical traditions of Kerala, particularly the Mappila songs of Malabar, leaving the audience mesmerized. The musical journey was further enriched by the performances of talented artists Mirza Sharif, Noohu Beemapally, Vijesh Chandru, Rasheed Oyur, Sandhya, Ashna, Rajikumar, and Ashir Kollam, whose heartfelt melodies evoked a strong sense of unity and emotional connection among the attendees. The background score, meticulously arranged by Ashraf Valiyora, added depth and harmony to the performances, elevating the overall experience.

The event also showcased the vibrant energy of the younger generation through dazzling dance performances by students from Good Hope and Phenom academies. Dressed in colorful traditional attire, the children captivated the audience with their graceful choreography, dedication, and infectious enthusiasm. Their performances were a testament to the community’s commitment to preserving and promoting its cultural heritage among the youth.

Adding a unique flavor to the evening was the Kakarissi drama and Dandiya dance, choreographed by Sreeta Teacher. The performances were a visual treat, featuring intricate moves, seamless coordination, and expressive transitions that kept the audience engaged. Another standout act was the spot dubbing performance by Fazil Oachira, who showcased his exceptional talent by mimicking popular film dialogues with remarkable clarity, emotional depth, and perfect synchronization. His performance was so authentic that the audience could easily identify the original actors, earning him widespread admiration.

The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries and community leaders. General Convener Dileep Thamarakulam set the tone for the evening with his preamble, while JTA President Ali Thekkuthod presided over the function. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Mohammed Imran, Marketing Director of Abeer Medical Group, who emphasized the importance of cultural preservation and community solidarity. Felicitations were delivered by prominent figures, including Nazeer Vavakunju, Shihab Thamarakulam, and Naushad Panmana, who praised the association’s efforts in fostering unity and cultural pride.

In a special segment, the JTA honored several individuals and organizations for their outstanding contributions to the community. Abeer Medical Group, Al Salam Medical Complex, Vijay Food Products, Dhe Put Restaurant, and individuals such as Mr. Masood Balaramapuram, Mr. Najeeb Venjaramoodu, Mr. Anil Kumar Pathanamthitta, Mrs. Jothikumar, Mr. Vasu Velledathu, and Mr. Mohammed Hafeez Rahman were recognized for their unwavering support and service. Al Abeer Medical Group also honored JTA President Ali Thekkuthod with a shawl as a token of appreciation for his leadership and dedication.

The event’s seamless flow was expertly managed by Program Flow Controller Jinny George, who ensured that each segment transitioned smoothly, maintaining the audience’s engagement throughout the evening. The program was skillfully hosted by Mr. Muhammad Rafi and Roslin, whose charismatic presence added to the event’s charm.

In a significant announcement, the General Body of the Jeddah Thiruvithancore Association unanimously approved the continuation of the current management team for the year 2025-26, reflecting the community’s trust and confidence in their leadership.

Thiruvutsavam 2025 was not just a celebration of culture and tradition but also a testament to the unity, resilience, and vibrant spirit of the Thiruvithancore community in Jeddah. The event left an indelible mark on the hearts of all attendees, reinforcing their shared identity and pride in their heritage.
