With its soulful melody and captivating visuals, this artistic masterpiece, led by the talented Chilkuri Sushil Rao, pays homage to the extraordinary life of Chilkuri Samuel from Wangamarthi village in Telangana’s Nalgonda district. The one-hour documentary, produced and directed by Rao himself, commemorates the centenary of his father’s birth and weaves a poignant narrative of resilience, sacrifice, and enduring friendship. This celebration of art and emotion also charmed audiences at the 12th Bangalore Short Film Festival-2023, earning yet another well-deserved “Certificate of Excellence.” Beyond borders, the music video’s poignant message reached the shores of Hollywood, capturing hearts and leaving an indelible mark in the heart of the entertainment industry.

Hyderabad (MediaBoss Network): A tale of artistic brilliance and heartfelt tribute, the Telugu music video “Jai Ho! Mithrama” has garnered international recognition, earning the prestigious “Certificate of Excellence” at the 12th Kolkata Short International Film Festival held on July 30, 2023. This captivating creation features the soulful rendition of “Wangamarthi Ma Ooru,” sung by the talented Chilkuri Sushil Rao, who also penned the heartfelt lyrics. The music, composed by Beno Joseph Malogi of Kraftsmen Media, beautifully complements the video’s narrative.

The music video, which narrates the inspiring life story of Chilkuri Samuel from Wangamarthi village in Telangana’s Nalgonda district, pays homage to Rao’s father on his 100th birth anniversary. The captivating one-hour documentary captures the essence of Samuel’s life, who had served in the British-Indian Army.

Notably, the music video also achieved recognition at the 12th Bangalore Short Film Festival-2023, where it was screened on June 18 and received yet another “Certificate of Excellence” at the esteemed film festival.

Pushing artistic boundaries, an alternate version of the Telugu song was filmed in Hollywood, featuring the talented Samuel Stanley Jones Chilkuri. The Hollywood version was beautifully brought to life by the Director of photography, Rufus Simon, from Los Angeles, California.

Adding another layer of significance to the project, the song “Wangamarthi Ma Ooru” was filmed in Hollywood to commemorate the centenary of the iconic Hollywood Sign erected in 1923.

The music video showcased a remarkable collaboration of talents from different corners of the globe, with participants including Chilkuri Shyam Rao, Chilkuri Sheetal Sindoora, Jordan, and Zoey in Pennsylvania, US, Chilkuri Vasantha Rao in Bengalore, Chilkuri Sushil Rao in Hyderabad, Samuel Stanley Jones Chilkuri in Hollywood, US, and Parimala in Wangamarthy, among others. The diversity of locations, from Wangamarthi to London and beyond, added a unique global touch to the production.

Elijah Emmanuel of Kraftsmen Media played a vital role as the cinematographer and editor for the song, capturing its essence and bringing the video to life featuring Chilkuri Sushil Rao who recorded the song at Kraftsmen Media Studio in Hyderabad.

The documentary “Jai Ho! Mitrama” made its mark with a poignant screening on June 18 in Wangamarthi village, Nalgonda district where Chilkuri Samuel was born 100 years ago, followed by another screening at UTC, Bangalore on June 28. Its compelling storyline and profound emotions touched the hearts of audiences.

With its exceptional craftsmanship and profound storytelling, “Jai Ho! Mithrama” made a remarkable impact on the global stage, as it was also submitted for consideration for the prestigious Festival de Cannes in 2023 and also the reputed Cannes World Film Festival in France.

The music video’s journey of international recognition is a testament to the passion, dedication, and artistic brilliance of Chilkuri Sushil Rao and the entire creative team involved in this extraordinary project.
