Peddinti Ashok Kumar, a mathematics teacher by profession and a literary giant by passion, has become a celebrated figure in Telugu literature. For over 25 years, he has been crafting stories, novels, and plays that vividly portray the lives and struggles of rural Telangana people. His work has not only earned him numerous awards and recognition but has also become part of the academic curriculum in prestigious universities. With five M.Phil. and four Ph.D. degrees conferred on his literature, and his works translated into 11 languages, Ashok Kumar stands as a beacon of humanitarian writing.

Peddinti Ashok Kumar is a teacher by profession, serving as a mathematics teacher at the Kishtampet School in Chandurthi Mandal, Rajanna Sircilla district. However, he has made a unique mark on Telugu literature. For the past 25 years, he has been writing stories, novels, and plays in the rustic language of Telangana soil. He has also penned dialogues and lyrics for neglected Telangana films. His works are included in the syllabi of Osmania, Kakatiya, and Madras Universities.

So far, five M.Phil. degrees and four Ph.D. degrees have been awarded on his literature by various universities. His novel Jigiri has been translated into eleven languages. His stories have also been translated into Kannada and Hindi and published as collections.

M. Sairam completed his M.Phil. from Madras University with a study on the novel Edari Mantalu. M. Sharada completed her M.Phil. from Kakatiya University with a study on the novel Dadi. K. Swarajyam completed her M.Phil. from Kakatiya University with a study on the novel Long March. Narra Anjan Reddy completed his M.Phil. from Kakatiya University with a study on the stories Mayimunta. Gaddam Lingaraju completed his M.Phil. from the Central University with a study on the novel Jigiri.

Bandi Prem Kumar completed his Ph.D. from Osmania University, K. Narsinghulu from Venkateswara University, Misala Uday Kumar from Osmania University, and Challa Devi from Nagarjuna University, all focusing on the literature of Peddinti Ashok Kumar.
