The 5th Annual Diwali Festival organized by Al-Hasa Tamil Sangam was celebrated with great enthusiasm on November 1, 2024, in Al Hasa. This milestone event began with the traditional Tamil Thai greeting, followed by a candle-lighting ceremony, symbolizing light and harmony, marking the occasion with vibrant cultural displays and community gathering. Hosted by Dr. Nagarajan Ganesan and Dr. Paramasivan Mani of the Al-Hasa Tamil Sangam Executive Committee, the event also featured Mrs. Sharmila Paramasivan, who addressed the gathering with a heartfelt message on the importance of unity, love, and well-being during Diwali.
The celebration saw notable figures, including Mr. Sikandar Babu and Mr. Uma Shankar from the United Tamil Sangam, who shared insights on the organization’s activities. Attendees included Tamil-speaking residents from Al Hasa, as well as neighbouring cities Dammam and Al Khobar.
The festival’s key attractions included various performances, such as dance, music, yoga, and other art forms, with a notable number of children showcasing their talents. Each participating child received a special Diwali gift, adding to the festive spirit. The gathering also included a shared meal featuring traditional Diwali delicacies, sweets, and a joyous display of fireworks. This celebration welcomed people of all faiths, creating a family-like atmosphere filled with unity and joy.
Organizers Dr. Paramasivan Mani, Dr. Nagarajan Ganesan, Dr. Aruna Nagarajan, Smt. Sharmila Paramasivan, Smt. Ayesha Mukhtar, Shri. Rauf, and Mrs. Shaliha Rauf coordinated the event, ensuring a memorable experience for all. The festival concluded with the national anthem, leaving everyone with a sense of pride and cherished memories of this special occasion.
